What will you be doing?

At SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions we offer our graduates a challenging 12-month program focused on developing their essential and technical skills through a combination of in person, virtual and on the job training.  Each graduate in our program takes on a focused role to develop their expertise in a specific area and make a difference for the local business team.

Job scope:

Reporting to Senior Product Application Leader HPI & CPI, the HPI/CPI Product Applications COE graduate trainee will undergo a learning programme that is both office/laboratory based (Haasrode) and field based. They will learn the skills needed to help support the commercial team in gaining new business through technical support, improving current business through audits and troubleshooting existing business at risk.

They will also undertake a mentoring programme that teams them with experienced Product Applications and Commercial people, to further aid their development.



       In collaboration with the Industrial Vertical and Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Product Application teams, design and development of innovative process solutions for unique applications in the chemical and petrochemical industry (Based on Voice of the Customer, including market economics).

       Ensure proposed solutions and product specification conforms with initially agreed Key Performance Indicators as agreed by applying a tollgate process.

       Perform laboratory validations (fail fast) and conduct customer pilot to assess new product and equipment performance.

       Apply Six Sigma Design of Experiment and statistical tools to develop high quality, innovative technology solutions and products, validated customer requirements.

       Work with sourcing team to drive open innovation programs.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are willing to think outside the box, share new ideas and take on new challenges. Successful candidates will join us between 16 August and 17 September.  The first training session will take place during October.

Minimum Requirements

           PhD or Master’s in chemistry, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science or equivalent.

           Fluent in English

           PC literate


Useful skills or abilities

           Expertise in one of the following area’s is an advantage: Hydrocarbon or Chemical Process Industry or eager to learn. 

           Experience with scientific research in product development.

           Analytical, creative and excellent conceptual problem-solving skills-ability to consider overall problem, including economics

           Proactive problem solver driven by high quality standards.

           Team player with high energy with passion for excellence

           Embraces change and technology evolution as an opportunity

           Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills

           Other languages are an advantage.

           Capable of applying complex data analysis.

           Strong environmental, health and safety ethics.


Willing to travel for short periods within the EMEA region
